10 SCHOOLS PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT ORGANIZED BY DISTRICT CHILD WELFARE COUNCIL

Mrs. Praveen Sharma wife of Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today inaugurated a ‘Bal Mela’ organized by the District Child Welfare Council at the local Red Cross Bhawan.

In her address, Mrs. Sharma said that such creative events could play an instrumental role in the overall development of children. She said that along with academics such events help in the personality development of students along with instilling a sense of confidence in them. Mrs. Sharma lauded the organizing committee for taking this initiative that was the need of hour for inspiring the students to participate in creative activities.

Meanwhile, today students of 10 schools participated in this event. The students exhibited their marvelous performance in Duet Song and Skit Competitions. In Duet song competition Sanskriti KMV School bagged the first prize while Police DAV Public School and BSF Senior Secondary School won the second and third positions. Likewise, in Skit Competition Police DAV Public School won the first prize whereas BSF senior Secondary School and Arya Girls High School Kartarpur achieved second and third prize. Mr. Sunil Sawan, Mr. Manpreet Singh and Ms. Preetika Mishra acted as judges during competition.
