Govt makes solar power must for private schools
Karnal,
To make the private schools of the district more self-sufficient in the field of electricity, the district administration has initiated the process to install subsidised grid connected rooftop solar power plant. OPS Vidya Mandir, Sector-13, has become the first private school in the district to adopt this project.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Nishant Yadav today inaugurated the project and said the district administration would approach each and every private school having electricity load more than 30kw to install it.
“The state government has made solar power system mandatory for private schools, for which it provides a subsidy of 30 per cent on the installation cost,” the ADC maintained.
“We have conducted a meeting with all the private schools having electricity load more than 30kw recently and asked them to install this project within three months or face stringent action, besides disconnecting their electricity supply,” he said.
